the home of pre-loved luxury

In 2018 this Japanese engineering magnate decided to open a pop-up shop on Bond Street stocked high with genuine designer label pre-owned handbags leather goods and small luxury items. These were sent across via his shipping company from Japan to London from the very large Geisha sector who were rewarded for their services in gifts (never cash) and handbags and jewellery were the most readily disposable. As they were second-hand there was no VAT to add so the handbags and leather goods were fantastic value.

We proposed many alternative names and designs, but the owner was determined with his Brand name Daikokuya, (little Tokyo) which no one could pronounce, and that was the smallest of the challenges. We had three weeks to design the brand, build a website and refit the shop which had to include bespoke wallpaper of the Brand (made in Japan) and beautifully crafted display cabinets, sustainable carrier bags and back lit posters and window displays.

What was scheduled to be a six-month pop-up venture turned into a two year highly successful and profitable venture for Mr Suiko Koryaku.
